Project Description:

On May 18th 2022, the “Gobi Natural History Museum” was opened in Dalandzadgad County, South Gobi Province. The museum houses over 4,000 exhibits and artifacts, equipped with facilities and decorations that meet international standards.

The museum’s collection includes traces of human habitation in the South Gobi Province dating back 4,500-5,000 years, ancient relics and fossils unearthed in places such as Chuhor Ret Valley, Ongiin Khiid, Bayanzag, Khongoryn Els, and Tugrikh Jireg. It also features exquisite works of famous Gobi craftsmen.

In addition to the unique silver bowl crafted by the artisan Sainbileg, considered one of the province’s nine wonders, the museum also showcases jewelry, vessels, religious artifacts, Buddha paintings, and musical instruments that meet international standards.

Visitors can also explore relics from the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age. The museum was constructed with an investment of 10.9 billion Tugrik from the Gobi Ayu Foundation, supported by the “Ayutolgoi” company.
